With all the passionate replies we've received and forwarded to Pepsi, I'm starting to wonder if I should watch my back. I haven't been threatened in any way, but I figure it might not be a bad idea to add a few locks to my door, or buy a dog.
If we can continue this succesful effort to the point that we get interntational recognition, I might consider purchasing a wireless security system. You can never be too safe. Keep those comments and emails coming!

I'm a big fan of vintage shirts and I was just thinking of how we could pay homage to the exctinct 12-pack with a t-shirt , a hat or one of those custom tote bags everyone seems to use to help the environment.
I'm open to any ideas you might have, so lay them on me! I'm sure there are plenty of witty sayings you can come up with. Leave your idea in the comment section.
I've been trying to save some cash to take my family on one of those amazing Orlando vacations where they can see Disney,Universal and the whole works, but everytime I go to the checkout counter at the grocery store, it seems like the products are smaller but pricier, especially the Pepsi products.
I probably spend $75 a month just on sodas, and that's after we REDUCED our daily intake for a healthier diet. How about you? How much do you spend?

PepsiCo just announced that its first quarter earnings report will be presented via a live webcast slideshow on Thursday, April 23 at 9 A.M Eastern time.
Pepsi will give financial analysts access to the presentation on the investor relations page at pepsico.com. Following the company's decision to downsize to 8-packs and transition to plastic, recycable pallets, I'll be interested to hear what their figures look like when the accounts open the books next month.
Currently, you can upload the complete 2008 report and listen to it as an mp3.

Pepsico announced its plans to ditch wooden pallets from its supply chain in favor of plastic ones.
The new pallets, from Intelligent Global Pooling Systems, are 20-27 pounds lighter than their wood predecessors, and Pepsi claims the old or damaged units will be remolded into new ones.
Quaker and Gatorade pallets will be changed April 1 and Tropicana will make the change May 1.
I can't help but wonder, will the lighter packaging translate to cheaper prices to the consumer, or will we still feel like we're paying for a tuxedo every time the cashier rings up our drinks at the checkout line?

Have any of you been to pepsi's website lately?
I'm on a broadband connection and I had to wait a minute just to see the main menu. During the wait, I was forced to endure an ear-splitting song that automatically plays each time you hit the site.
Is it too much to expect a corporation with truckloads of money to produce a decent website? It has interactive features and nice graphics, but moves at a snails pace. I could understand the slow load if I was shopping for a new video card for my computer or if my model was outdated, but the performance issues seem to be Pepsi's problem, not mine!
I'm wondering if any of you can help me find something very valuable. I want you to find any store that's still selling a Pepsi 12 pack. It's been a few months since they were phased out, so notw they're a rare commodity. During the first month, they were almost as easy to find as health insurance leads, but now they've vanished faster than a pizza at a weightwatchers convention.
If you know of any old mom and pop convenience stores, that might be a good place to check, since retailers are constantly restocking.

One would think that this unbelievably dumb marketing move by Pepsi to replace the 12 packs with 8 packs would result in some sort of short selling or at least start a selloff of PepsiCola stock but that doesn't appear to be the case. The current stock price is hovering just below 50 USD and has been there since September of 2008. So far no Wall St jobs have been lost by any stock brokers, at least none that I'm aware of. In fact, volume on the stock seems to be chugging along as if nothing was happening. I guess we have to keep in mind that Pepsi Cola does have a lot of other business interests and I'm sure they've got no plans to bring back the 12 pack anytime soon. But if they do you'll hear it first here.
Not sure when this started happening but recently Howie Mandel has picked up a sponsorship from Buy.com and there are a series of videos on YouTube that show Howie going to suburban America (Cali for sure), ringing a doorbell and being greeted by unsuspecting homeowners. Howie then barges into their home and gets them to purchase something online from Buy.com. There is no telling whether or not they're purchasing a sale item or if it's some special product Buy.com wants to highlight but the videos seem to be catching on.

Pepsi Co claims the economy forced them to make some adjustments to our pricing and packaging, but they never promised to revert to the 12-pack when the economy recovers.
Once we're out of the recession, do you really expect Pepsi to change back to its original 12-packs? I doubt it! They'll be forced to justify the 8-pack with a new reason. Perhaps they'll claim its for environmental purposes and they want to save trees, or that 12-packs require more safety equipment because they're heavier to move.
Regardless of what excuse they come up with, we won't be satisfied until these 8-packs are history!
